Welcome to the Evangelical Free Church of Merced’s Children’s Ministry!  It is our desire at EFCM to provide support and encouragement to parents in their child’s spiritual development.

The goal of our Children’s Ministry is to lead children to a personal relationship with Jesus and to help children understand and apply Biblical truth.  EFCM’s Children’s Ministry teaches children from birth through 5th grade.  At EFCM, children learn in a loving, age appropriate environment Biblical truths and principles through prayer, music, crafts, games, group discussions, and videos.

At EFCM we are blessed to have a dedicated and loving Children’s Ministry Staff.  Each loves Jesus and is committed to serving Him.  They want to be a part of the Great Commission - reaching people for Jesus and training them to serve Him.  They love children and working with them.

Because we are a church that cares about your family, we see ourselves in partnership with parents as they seek to raise godly children.

Nursery Ministry is available during the Service of Worship at 9:30 a.m. and during Sunday School at 11:15 a.m.  Nursery is for infant children through age 2. The Bible tells us in Psalm 127:3 that children are a gift from the Lord.  We value each child as unique and special, to be cared for, nurtured, and shown the love of Jesus.  Both parents and church workers play an essential and influential role in making God’s love real to these little ones.  It is our desire to become a partnering  extension of your home.  We will provide a safe, quiet, and gentle environment for your child.  With the use of music, play time, and stories we will teach them about God’s love for them and others.

Children's Worship Time takes place during the Service of Worship at 9:30 a.m. Junior Church gives children the opportunity to participate in the Service of Worship while experiencing age appropriate teaching.  Children ages 3 and 4 begin in their classroom.  Children ages 5 through 5th grade begin with  their parents in the Service of Worship.  Right after the time of worship in singing children will be dismissed to their own Children's Worship Time.

Sunday School takes place at 11:15 a.m. for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Through the use of age appropriate curriculum and activities children are taught Biblical truths and of God's love for them and others.  Our classrooms provide a safe, quiet, and stimulating environment for your child.

Vacation Bible School is for children ages 5 through 5th grade.  Through games, crafts, singing, Bible teaching and application we share the love of God with the children of our community.  Each June we invite children to join us for Vacation Bible School @ Applegate Park in Merced.

Our AWANA club (charter #5442) was formed in September, 1984.  From September through May over 80 children participate each week in Bible teaching and memorization, competitions, and special events.  Our club is a part of AWANA Clubs International.  Clubs for Cubbies, Sparkies, and Truth in Training (ages 3 through 6th grade) meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Special Events happen throughout the year which provide opportunities for families to come together.  Updated information will be provided as it becomes available.
