5:22-24: What Paul is describing is an order of under God.

1 Corinthians 11:3
Four elements of headship:
First: Identity of (John 10:30)

Second: (John 5:17)

Third: of the person (John 8:49,54)

Fourth: Diffrence of (John 8:49; 14:28)

5:25: Husbands are to give themselves for their wives. (reference: John 10:18)

Three Purposes of Sacrificial Headship (giving ourselves up for our wives)...

Frist Purpose: To her. (Verse 26)

Cleanse with water =
Cleanse with the word =

Second Purpose: To her. (Verse 27)

Third Purpose: To be . (Verses 28-31)
"ought" =

Two Points of Application:
First: To put the blame where the belongs.

Second: Oneness in marriage is directly proportional to a couple's individual and mutual surrender to God.
